Arlene Cruz/Chavez nee Ragghianti, born Sept 10, 1036 in Oakland, CA to John and Rose Ragghianti. Preceded in death by husband Jacinto Cruz, sons Kevin and Jerry Cruz. Also preceded in death by husband, Charlie Chavez. Survived by sons Steve, Dave and Jon Cruz, daughter-in-law Cecilia Cruz, mother of grandsons: Rhonda Ransier and Kellee Rose. Grandsons Shawn, Kevin, Christopher and Ethan. Step-grandsons, Keith Bonnes and wife MaryJane, and Brayden Rose. Granddaughters, Kimberly and Denise. Great Granddaughter Angelina and Great Grandsons, Anthony and Julian. Arlene graduated from Technical High School in Oakland, in 1954. Loved semi-annual luncheons with many special classmates including her grammar school friends. She was a member of Tri-Cities Women's Club of Fremont since 1962 and retired secretary of Teamsters Local 576 in San Jose for 15 years. She enjoyed gardening, crafts, genealogy and miniatures but most of all loved and lived for her family and dear friends.

  1. Arlene was a dear friend and fellow classmate at Oakland Technical High School and also Claremont Junior High. I have let a number of our classmates know of her passing and am sure that she will be missed by many… but is in a better place now where we will meet once again one day.

    • I miss you so much grandma. I wish I could’ve said goodbye to you. I love you so much and I want everyone to know she was the greatest grandmother to me. She is so sweet and the world isn’t the same without her

  2. Arlene was a very dear friend and we stayed in touch after all the years following graduation from Oakland Tech. I will miss her emails and phone calls. I loved her.
